MATCHA Vs. GREEN TEA

Technically, matcha is a form of green tea. But during the harvest cycle, a shade is put over the tea plants, which creates a very intense environment for the plant. In a fight for survival, the plant's nutrients are brought up into the leaves, which gives it is bright green color and healthy benefits.

Those leaves are then hand-picked, steamed and dried, before being milled into a fine powder. And unlike green tea, is steeped into water, Matcha is whisked into water, so you are actually consuming the entire leaf (and all of its nutrients too), which has a smooth balance of umami.
